Malibu Beach Inn Receives GBAC Star for High Standards for Cleanliness and Prevention

Malibu Beach Inn, the luxury boutique hotel nestled on the sands of the Pacific Ocean in the heart of Malibu, is recognized by the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC), receiving a Certificate of Accreditation, the GBAC STAR. The GBAC STAR, the gold standard of prepared facilities, acknowledges Malibu Beach Inn’s efforts to establish and maintain an infectious disease prevention program to minimize risks and establishes and maintains proper cleaning protocols, disinfection techniques, and work practices as well as highly informed cleaning professionals who are trained for outbreak and infectious disease preparation.

“We aim to provide guests high-touch service in a no-touch era,” says Gregory Day, general manager of Malibu Beach Inn. “The GBAC STAR provides a third-party assurance and validation of our team’s protocols, giving guests the reassurance and comfort we believe they are looking for during their stay.”

Their electrostatic disinfectant tool combines the power of sanitizing chemicals with electrostatic molecules to ensure that every space within Malibu Beach Inn has been effectively and regularly cleaned to the highest standard. This unique technology is used in every guest room every day as well as public areas and high-touch areas such as door handles, handrails and elevator lifts.

In addition to this impressive sanitation process and technology, hand-sanitizing stations have also been implemented throughout the property, in both guest-facing and back-of-house areas, and can be found on every floor.

If needed during a guest’s stay, guests have complimentary access to Telehealth, an App provided through Malibu Beach Inn’s partnership, CURE Spa. Telehealth allows past guests to connect with a physician and test for COVID-19 as well as its antibodies.

Lastly, social distancing measures are strictly enforced throughout the property and guests are required to wear a mask when not seated while dining. Malibu Beach Inn has furthered their partnership with Bellino Fine Linens, a 30-year-old leading luxury linen brand based in Italy, to create custom masks, whereby half are utilized for staff and the rest are donated to local Malibu charity, Boys & Girls Club of Malibu.
